Molly and Emily's Black and White Christmas

So I took some photos of Molly and Emily in front of our Christmas tree, and of course, the coloring didn't turn out all the great because our tree is always far from the window and I always take the tree pictures at night... not a good combo...  and that's the same mistake I made last year... oops.)
But anyway, I made them all black and white, much to the girl's delight, and it turns out, they look much better that way!
 Whisperings under the tree...
Christmas mugshots *cough* head-shots! In Molly's photo, I was experimenting with a different kind of lighting. My mom picked up some rope lights from the store, and when you pull them out of the package, they're packaged in a ring shape, and have a really strong, bright glow. So I held them up above molly to try and imitate studio lights.  What do you think?
Molly's a little excited about Christmas.... just a little. She's mostly excited for the snow. That's the main thing she asked for this year, lots and lots of snow. We'll have to see about that, since I have no control over the snow.. hmm..
Emily's just happy to be celebrating with friends, and to be able to enjoy their company.

What are your Christmas plans, if you happen to celebrate Christmas?
I hope your holiday is a good one, and if I don't get around to blogging before this Thursday,
Merry Christmas!

Little Red Riding Hood - A Photoshoot

As my photoshoots can quickly spiral down into nothing, I've tried to give myself more props in my pictures, or a set theme, or goal. This theme was, obviously, Little Red Riding Hood.

 Which photo is your favorite?

The Bad Influence - A Photo Story (Part 2)

(sorry for taking so long to get this up! If you haven't already read part 1, you can read it here.)

"This, Molly is the internet." Mia said, pushing her macbook air into Molly's lap.
"Does... does this mean I can watch spongebob again?" Molly said, quivering with excitement. Molly, before becoming a strict historical, was known to watch many marathons of episodes.
"Well, um, how about I show you a different show? I promise you, there is a way better one than... Spongebob."
"Whats wrong with spongebob?" Molly asked, frowning.
"Um. Well. Here, watch this." Mia said quickly, grabbing the labtop back and typing quickly on the keyboard.
After several hours of Mia's favorite TV shows, she closed the laptop. "Alright, are you ready for your next step to being modern?"
"Sure! Why not? Can we watch more TV after?"
"Well, I guess. I thought I would make you an Instagram and get you an email after this..."
"So what's the next step?" Molly interrupted.
"Well, in order to really get that modern look, we're going to have to have to get you some better clothes. Your dress is cute and vintage and all, but..."
"Whats wrong with vintage?" Molly frowned.
"Nothing! Nothing"

"Wow WOW wow does this mean I can go back to wearing that cute little purple tank top with my wool skirt? And my American Girl Place Chicago T-shirt? OH and I can wear colorful striped socks..."
"Um, How about I pick out your clothes?" Mia suggested. She had seen pictures of Molly in those outfits: They didn't meet 2014 standards.
"Well, I guess you're the modern expert..." Molly sighed.
Mia left the room and quickly hurried back. In her arms she held a tank top, shorts, sunglasses, shoes and a green coat.
"This," she said, showing Molly the pile of clothes. "Is the best outfit ever. We can post your first selfie on your new IG, and you can look awesome."
Molly hesitantly reached out for the clothes. They looked awful familiar.
"Aren't these clothes going in the next Zellawear Summer Release? Only Emily is allowed to wear them." She asked nervously.
Mia frowned. "Well, yes, but it doesn't really matter. It's not like you're going to run around in the mud. and besides that, these shoes and sunglasses are mine.
Mia shoved the clothes in her arms and left the room for Molly to get dressed.
Once they were on, she eyed herself in a mirror. "These are cute..." She thought to herself. "But I thought no one was allowed to wear this coat." It didn't belong to them."
" Don't forget the sunglasses!" Mia trilled.
"I can't wear those, I'd be blind. And Mia? About these clothes..."
All of a sudden, Mia's bedroom door creaked open. "Mia? Have you seen--"
It was Emily.
"Molly! What are you wearing? You're not supposed to be wearing the clothes for the sewing release, and besides that, where are your historical clothes? We're supposed to always wear historical stuff."
"I-I," Molly.
"No, stop, its my fault. I lead Molly up here, and I made her put them on. She didn't want to, but I made her anyway. I went into your bedroom to try and find you, but I noticed Molly was depressed. I didn't try and help her with her problems, I just tried to change her to fix the problem. It's my fault Emily, if you're going to be angry at anyone, be angry at me."

"What's wrong, Molly?" Emily asked, smoothing out a ruffle in the hood of her jacket.

"Well, ever since we've been retired, I've felt really worthless. Mia told me I didn't have to be historical anymore..."
Emily gasped, "Just because you're retired, you think you don't have to be historical?"
"I guess. I mean, who am I doing to for? I'm not on the American Girl Lineup, and why sit and be sad historically when I could be happy and modern?"
"Molly," Emily asked gently. "Are you really happy being modern?"
"I guess..."
"You shouldn't try and change who you are just because you think no one likes you, or someone makes you. You are well loved by everyone, me included, just they way you are. You've been taken on the front lines, so what? Does a solider ever quit being a solider after being taken off the front lines? No! He becomes a veteran. Molly, you are a veteran."
Molly smiled sheepishly at her best friend.
"And," She added quietly. "If you ever want to wear modern clothes just for fun, let me know. I wouldn't mind sharing my job of being a mannequin with you.

"Now!" Emily said, clapping her hands. "Who wants ice cream? I just finished making some."
"Yippie!" Molly and Mia both called.
The End.

The Bad Influence - A photo story (part 1)

"Thanks for letting me borrow your dress, Em. It's so pretty and comfy." Molly sighed, thanking her friend. She forced a smile.
"Don't be so silly Molly, you can wear any of my clothes, we share now, remember?"

Emily smiled. "I have to go back to the shop now, I don't think that Miss Jeneca is done sewing, and I have to get these itchy modern clothes back to her right away, they're for a future release in her Etsy shop.
"Oh. Right. Okay. I'll see you later, I guess"
She stood for a moment, all alone in her bright, cheery room. The sunshine shone down on her. Molly let out a great sigh and trudged over to her bed, pulling back the covers and tucking herself in.
She pulled up her little doll, Samantha, and began talking to her. "Samantha, I just don't know how to go on. Why did they have to retire me? I'm plenty American, and since when am I not cool enough? I guess... I guess I'm just an old, boring, dusty thing. They probably took me off the shelves because I wasn't pretty enough. Oh I wish I could be back on the main lines. I am an American Girl, if there ever was one."
She turned her face away and looked at the wall. A tear slipped out of her eye and crashed onto the covers. Within a few minutes, she had fallen asleep.

A little while later, Mia stepped into the room.
"Emily?" She called loudly, looking around. "I need you to fix my shorts!"  She spotted Molly behind her and went to see what was wrong.
"Hey, do you know where Emily is?"
"At the shop. Can't you see I'm napping?"
"You never take naps. I've always known you to think that's babyish. I was going to ask you what's wrong, so I, as the loving sister I am, could console you."
"Nothing's wrong."Molly snapped. "I'm taking a nap, just like an old, retired person should do!" She spat bitterly
"You're not an old, retired Person." Mia stated, pulling Molly up.
"Yes I am. Why else would I be retired? I'm ugly and boring, and apparently, I'm not American enough either."
"American girl just wants money, that's why. You've never been ugly and boring, and, oh my gosh are you American. Have you looked around your room recently? And you know, being retired isn't that bad. Sure, you don't get new clothes, or new stories, but you get a chance to be free. To be modern."
"To be modern?" Molly asked curiously, dropping her angry expression.
"Yeah, modern. You've been retired. Why are you still doing all this historic stuff?"
"I-I-I've got a time period to up hold." Molly sniffed. "Theres rules, and a way about doing things and--"
"Not anymore. You're free! You've been at this for 25, no, 27 years now. Come on, I'll show you."

Mia drug Molly upstairs to the little dormer she shared with her cousin, Kanani.
"Where's Kanani at?" Molly asked.
"Oh, volunteering at some animal shelter for the rest of the day. She won't be back till about nine tonight. Sit here." She said, putting Molly in her bean bag.
"So, modern GOTY, what are the great joys of being Modern?" Molly asked, making herself comfortable.
"Here," Mia grinned.
Mia turned around and, reaching quickly into the bookshelf behind her, grabbed a book from the front of it.
In her hand she place a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone.
Molly squealed with pure joy.
"You mean I can read these again?! I read the first few before being complety historical was a rule, and I can't wait to read them again! I missed these books so much they were amazing, I love all the charectors, but esciaplly Sirius Black, but I really like Hermione she's so smart an-"
"You're welcome to read now," Mia interupted.
She quickly shut up and opened the book eargerly. A smile filled her face as she flipped through one page and the next, until she had devoured the first few chapters like a tub of vanilla ice cream at a birthday party.
"It's even better than I remember. Can I borrow it?" Molly asked eagerly. "I haven't had anything to read lately, I mean, I've already read all the Nancy Drew books, and the mysterys aren't as mysterious the second time around."
"Of course. I've got a few other books you should read, Divergent, Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games... oo, maybe we could read the falut-"
"Um, no thanks. So what else does modern have to offer?" Molly asked, clearly interested in what else Mia
had to offer.

"Come with me..." She grinned.

((Part two will be up in a few days time! What do you think so far, and what do you think might happen next? I'd love to hear your predictions! :)   ))

Happy Belated 80th Birthday, Molly Olly!

Molly is my home girl. She means so much to be, being my first doll, and bearing themost resemblance to me, with the exception that I have freckles and don't have bangs.
Anyway, I've been incredibly busy, and I feel so unprofessional that whenever I post, and I end up giving you a run down of whats happening in my life. epic fail.
Weeelll, I was super busy the day of her birthday, April 22nd. I didn't have time to take these pictures until Thursday, actually, the day I left for a convention that would last until Saturday night. So no time for anything but a few pictures while to started to rain. :/
Enjoy anyway! Which photo is your favorite?

Molly Enjoys Spring!

I apologize deeply for my absence. I'm all over the internet, its hard to keep up. I'm also trying to finish the Historical Fiction novel I wrote last November so I can edit it and get a few proof copies to give about. I'm also trying to keep on top of my school work, which I failing to do, hahaha....
BUT.
Yes!
Yes I do think that spring truly, sincerely is here. (finally!)
I know Emily is excited about being able to garden! All those peas, potatoes, peppers, strawberries...
Molly, who for some reason decided that she was going to wear modern clothes, went out and enjoyed it as it sunk into the night sky. I believe she noticed that Emily has been wearing modern attire for quite some time now (since she models clothing for Zellawear) that Molly wasn't going to be the only girl left in a skirt. Haha, I'll have to go change both my historical girls into their proper attire later. ;)
Enjoy!

"Oh haz, can i b in ur pixzur?1/1!?"

So, who else has a little picture taking compainion? It's nearly impossible to take pictures with Momma Kitty around (as pictured above) Because she just wants to sit on me. Constantly.  And also head but my dolls. You wouldn't believe the amount of pictures of have of this cat (and one of her kittens that I currently don't have... long story) bumping into my dolls. Here:

See? It's cute, but not when you miss a good shot. XD
Oh well. Who are your photobombing pets? (or other things?)

See ya later!
