Meet Custom-Mini-Felicity-Who-Needs-a-Name :)

So, last night I felt adventrous and decied that my custom mini Felicity, whose name is currently un-decied but might possibly be Erin, needed some eye re-vamp. I mean, I'd already snipped her hair quite a bit, brushed it out, washed it, tried to color it (note to self a readers: bad idea) and given her eyeliner-freckles... but she still looked a like a twin to my 'real' mini Felicity, who is a 25th aniversy mini and belongs to Emily.
So I went crazy. I still undecied on the eye, too. Brown or Blue? hmmm ;)
Anyway, here are some photos I snapped of her this morning in the lovely window light. :)

I sewed the petticoat/nightgown thingy for Mini Felicity, to wear under her holiday gown so she doesn't get cold, and to finally have something sleep in, besides her holiday gown and meet dress that she stole from now custom no-name-Lizzie.
Her blue eye isn't *that* bright, but it's close enough. I'll probably go over it again tonight.

A loooong time ago, I planned on giving this girlie (at the time, her name was set-in-stone as Erin) a blog of her own about travel and life situations, but I won't be doing that anymore. Nope nope nope! I'm going to start taking this girl wherever I go travel wise, since taking a big doll isn't always convenient.
{{P.S. what do you think of the name Aurora? :D }}

Weekly Photo Dump: Sewing Sew Much

Hello! It's a day late, sorry about that, I forgot, and Picasa was malfunctioning last night...But here it is!
I made my first circle skirt! I love it so much, it's adorable, and you just might see in in my Etsy shop in the coming month... ;) The image to the right is another creation that will find a home at Etsy soon, but I'm not going to post any more of it, it's a surprise...
I also tried leggings, but had to adapt from one of those generic patterns you buy at fabric stores. (I'm to cheap to buy the real pattern from Pixie Faire XP) In the end though, they turned out nothing like the pattern. I will be keeping this pair for myself, just because they're so messy ( and kind of baggy in the back) but hopefully will be making another pair to sell.
Molly has missed out on all the designing fun these weeks, but it doesn't look like she minds to much ;)
Emily has been my dolly manikin for this sewing adventure, I'm not quite sure why but it's been an interesting 'bonding' experience, as I never do much with Emmy.
I also tried to make a tutorial on how to turn a hoodie sleeve into scrunchy doll pants, but I forgot to take the rest of the pictures, so I only have this one and one other... won't be posting that now. XD
But, until next time,
{{P.S. do you like my new design? I'm still experimenting {and learning} so its not quite done yet, but for now, it's done. XD }}

Name Change: Yes or No?

I realized that today I've only gotten 3 page view n my blog. I'm not trying to be conceited or all like NOOOO ONE LIKES ME I just thought that it was odd, because I get at least 10 a day... and then I remembered I changed the name of my blog.

I never truly like the name American Girl Imagination. One of my biggest troubles in life (XD) is naming things, which falls right in like in making a dessicion. I really wanted to get my blog going, so I finally picked something I could go with for some time and went live. But then I came of with Vinyl Girls, which is an obvius play on words with dolls and the fact that they're vinyl... and all of mine, anyway, are girls.
(I'm including a picture so this post will look more enticing and people will read it. xD)

But American Girl Imagination does kinda give more of a clue in on the fact that this is a DOLL BLOG about DOLLS and other DOLLY THINGS.

So, yes or no? Do you like it or not? You can vote in the poll that is to the right of this post, and if you have a further comment or suggestion, you can comment below. I read all my comments. :)

Weekly Photo Dump: My 1940s Girls and a New Cloak!

Its been an... well I'm not sure... first few weeks of 2014. Doll wise, I've been preparing for an Etsy shop, doing that annoying deep thinking that I occisnally do about what point dolls really have and have taken a boat load of doll pictures.
Non doll related? I was in my house for all of this week due to the 'Blizzard of 2014'. I enjoyed it.
So here is Molly and Emily, with Emliy starting a scandal of sorts for *gasp* wearing a tank top! Just kidding... Emily's historical, but she's been my mannikin of sorts this week.

I did manage to sew for myself a cloak! Emily got to wear it first, even though it belongs to Laylie, my A Life Of Faith doll... that's why the hoods so big, it's supposed to fit around her massive hairdo! :o)
These were taken before the blizzard actually 'hit' hit.
We got fourteen inches in total, which would have been much taller that Emily... I believe there is only 7 in this picture, maybe more, because shes not pushed all the way to the ground... ha.
I alos realized how amazing window light is and that my windows are jusssttt wide enough for my dolls to stand in them... new photo booth!! :D

What Have I Been Up To? Etsy.

Yes-sir-ree, Etsy time! I'm sewing up a storm in hopes for a Spring or late Winter release. Maybe I'll even break a few more rules and post them in a few weeks time! All I've sewn so far are a few skirts, and dug out a mini skirt I made two years ago and meant to sell then... That'll be on sale, ha.
My latest (not yet completed) experiment has been the Liberty Jane button up shirt. It's gone well so far, besides a few kinks I had to work out... but I'll be keeping this 'interesting' first try for myself, and give it to Molly, perhaps, as a late Christmas Present.

Thoughts on Isabelle

It's been an exciting day at AG... did anyone notice that the Isabelle mini doll is already sold out? Yeah! It's day one. I guess that $24 for a small version is a whole lot more appealing to $120 for the big one. ;) I'm going to be sharing with you today what I think of Isabelle, since everyone is so eagar to hear my opions... *crickets*
Yes! Let's get on with it. :o)
First of all, I would like to point something hillarous out to you... I literally laughed out loud at this.
Notice what this image says in the lower right hand corner, "Doll hair does not move on its own" Is it just me, or is that funny?! If you would like to see Isabelle's following locks (AG really got into the hair movement this year,  if you look at the stock photo you'll see what I mean

... I like it :D )
But let's talk Izzy. Which, by the way, I will call her in this "review" of sorts. She's pretty, I suppose. I like the pink hair, even though I don't like the color pink.  Ombre hair on a doll is neat! Her meet outfits a little... dull. I like the shoes, the tops a bit funky, and the pants are cool. But for a meet outfit its just a little on the blah side. As an outfit though, I do like it. She does look like Lanie whoses bought a hair straightener, and her personality is a reformation of Marisol's interests... hm.

This is better than some accessories I've seen over the years. Kanani's was the worst. The jacket is cute, though. It kinda reminds me of the LJC Motorcycle jacket! Good job, AG.
This mini doll? CUTE. I love mini things, and this is adorable. She represents the doll well, all except... her eyelashes. The things are massive! They're longer than mine, and I've got longish eyelashes. It looks like the poor girls been through a few layers of mascara. Other than that, za'lls good. I might buy her. Maybe.
These things... confuse me. Sure, she's a ballet dancer, but why make her PJ PANTS look like a skirt. The tops cute, but not for PJ's.
Now this, I like! No, I love this studio! It's adorable. From the poofy chair skirt, (<3!!) the drawers in the wardrobe, the sewing machine, the fact it's a stinking wardrobe to the dress form. I love it! All but the price. $259?? I'm sorry to say, but this could be made one way or another for wayyy cheaper than that. This item will never enter my collection, and I'm just fine with that. What would I do with it when none of my dolls sew? (except maybe Emily.)
It's interesting. I like the skirt, and the shoes. It seems a bit to accessory heavy, and from what I've seen in real life photos of the shoes, they're blue. It's okay.
The dress? It's growing on me. I thought it looked just plain weird at first, but I like it more now. :)
There are more items to her collection, which you can see and discover for yourself...

But in conclusion? Isabelle will probably not be joining my collection. My tastes lay to deeply in historical AG. Plus her pricing is just annoying.  $110 for a doll was just plain silly, but $120? I had hoped that it was just a Canadian price (I realize that prices in Canada are a wee higher-- I'm not poking fun) but I hope that this isn't the solid price now for GOTY's. Maybe it's just because of the hair clip?
Oh well.
There's my opoion; what's yours? Tell me in the comments below what YOU think of Isabelle... I'd love to hear it ;D
